About the role:
You will lead and manage the Delivery Office Technical Assurance team to drive best value de-risked solutions, while ensuring technical performance of AMP7 contractors and consultants.
You will have a firm understanding of all aspects of risk, value, and deliverability, including existing asset performance and integration. You will be responsible for ensuring that project briefs are contractually fit for purpose and take the approved reference solutions, undertaking necessary investigations to develop them to a level that meets the intelligent client model expectations.
Guaranteeing technical aspects of the design, construction and commissioning phases of the project are carried out to our high standards and expectations. The solution developed and delivered must meet the requirements of the Project Brief, addresses the need and provides the best whole life cost for Thames Water.
You will play a key role in managing projects to be delivered to time, cost and quality objectives as well as ensuring a strong health, safety and wellbeing culture is adopted.
Key responsibilities for the role include:

Delivering our projects in-line with the business case and to Operations satisfaction.
Lead and take full project responsibility of all technical aspects during the Capital Delivery phases of the project lifecycle.
Responsible for ensuring the contractors/consultants are compliant with our H&S standards.
Identify any compliance, health, safety or environmental risks associated with the project which needs addressing through the solution and/or directly through Operations.
Working closely and collaboratively with the Definition, Project Manager and Commercial teams to ensure that timescales are met.
Manage a programme of technical audits/assessments (pre, during and post-construction) to ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety and Quality issues are appropriately addressed on all projects.
Ensure the correct processes and procedures are in place within Capital Delivery for the Technical Assurance Team and Supply Chain to follow to adequately discharge required duties.
Change management is of importance. You will ensure that change is managed effectively, ensure costs increases and programme impacts are minimised and to mitigate the risks to compliance, performance, health, safety and the environment.To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

Experience at a senior level within a technical or construction role, ideally within the utilities industry. The ideal candidate will be degree educated in a relevant field.
Experience in managing the risk and value process at the start of projects.
Excellent leadership communication and coaching skills with proven track record of managing change.
Ability to positively influence key internal and external stakeholders at senior level.
Previous leadership and management experience in building and developing teams.
Experienced in developing and implementing processes and procedures on a large scale, particularly in relation to technical quality and continuous improvement.
Strong commercial awareness with a good practical understanding of engineering contracts and balance of risk and value.
Deliver and maintain a culture of accountability, achievement and performance amongst individuals within the team and supply chain.What’s in it for you?
