Junior Sports Reporter

The Maidenhead Advertiser and Slough & Windsor Express have a rare opportunity for a junior reporter to join our sports desk.
The three weekly titles are owned by Baylis Media Ltd, a multi-media news organisation based in Maidenhead and covering the East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire area. Owned by a charitable trust, we are one of the few truly independent newspaper publishers left in the country. As a junior sports reporter, you will have the opportunity to cover everything from Olympic-standard competition to grassroots games across the patch. You will be given the chance to develop your multi-media and subbing skills, and will use social media to engage with our audience. The role is hands-on, and you will be asked to attend and cover matches at the weekends and on some evenings. Candidates must have an NCTJ pre-entry certificate or similar, a clean driving licence and car and strong sporting knowledge across a range of disciplines. We offer an attractive employment package including a competitive starting salary, five weeks of annual leave and salary increases as you develop your skills during your training.

Please send a CV and covering letter to editor James Preston at jamesp@baylismedia.co.uk by 9am on Friday, 18 January.
